Hey, I'm Roberto!

Welcome to RobLoTech! I'm a cybersecurity professional with a unique background—I started my career on the baseball field before transitioning into IT and cybersecurity. My journey from being a professional athlete to building a career in tech has been an exciting and challenging ride, and now I’m here to share what I’ve learned—and continue to learn—along the way.

How I Got Into Cybersecurity

After my time in professional baseball, I found myself searching for a new challenge and career path. I’ve always been fascinated by technology, so during the last three years of my baseball career, I pursued a degree in Information Technology with a focus on Cybersecurity. But breaking into IT—especially cybersecurity—wasn’t easy. Employers often asked for experience I didn’t have, and job descriptions felt impossible to match as a newcomer.

While applying for jobs and trying to get my foot in the door, I continued creating my own experiences. I dove into online labs, prepared for future certifications, and created hands-on projects to build my skills. My first IT role was as an IT Technician, and while I didn’t have certifications at the time, I quickly realized that to break into cybersecurity, I needed a security-first mindset. That’s when I went for the CompTIA Security+, which set the foundation for my transition into cybersecurity.

Fast forward, and I’ve been blessed with an opportunity to continue building a strong career in cybersecurity—earning multiple certifications along the way, like CompTIA Security+, Network+, CCNA, and ISC2's SSCP, and working on real-world security challenges daily.

Why I Created RobLoTech

Breaking into cybersecurity can be overwhelming, especially if you don’t have traditional experience. I know what it’s like to start from scratch, navigate certifications, and build hands-on skills—all while trying to land that first job.

That’s why I built RobLoTech, because I believe learning should be shared, not gatekept. Whether you’re just starting out, transitioning careers, or leveling up, my goal is to help you grow, learn, and thrive in cybersecurity.
